If you’re idea of exciting things to do in Derbyshire and Staffordshire is taking your family to a theme park and on rides, then the region has heck of a lot to offer.

For a real family day out, why not try Malock’s Gulliver’s Kingdom?  It’s a family theme park for families with children between the ages of 2 to 13 years of age.  Open for over 30 years, it was built by a family with families in mind. A value for money and fun day out, the park boasts over 30 rides and 30 attractions. Close to a great deal of our Peak District Accommodation, you’ll be reassured that after a hectic, exciting day, you’ll soon be in the comfort of one of our Derbyshire holiday cottages or converted barns and chapels.

Also in Matlock you’ll find the Heights of Abraham, the country’s first landmark cable car of its kind.  After the spectacular ride to the roof of the Derwent Valley, families can experience two spectacular underground caverns, breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and after hiking around picturesque Forrest walks can enjoy n alpine-style cafe and restaurant.  As before, this attraction is close to plenty of our Derbyshire Accommodation portfolio.

For more adventurous families, a short journey into neighbouring Staffordshire takes you to the nation’s most popular theme park, Alton Towers.  Attracting some 2.7 million visitors each year, the park boasts some of the most sophisticated rides in the entire world, including Nemesis, Oblivion, Air, Rita and Th13teen.  Although the park does have its own hotels, Hard Days Knight manages a variety of properties close by to suit all parties and all budgets.
