Located in Derbyshire at a stunning private country estate, our pump action shotgun experience is as action packed as it sounds. If you’re looking for stuff to to in Derbyshire, be it a hen do or stag weekend, or a corporate team building weekend, it’s an exciting group activity.
One of the best aspects of pump action shotguns is that there is absolutely no recoil at all – the trait of standard shotguns that can create that ‘kick back’ which can be painful if you’re shooting for a long time. And just loading the guns with the cartridges is exciting – let alone trying your hand at shooting them for the first time.
You’ll be shooting Mossberg 500 & Remington 870 pump action shotguns, and they really look the part as you’ll see from the photos here. The Mossberg is used by the American Military & Police, and the Remington is used by the British Army & Police Entry Teams. So you’re shooting the real deal. No messing about.
On arrival we’ll welcome you to the estate with free teas and coffees in the clubhouse. You could pre-order some food for your arrival too if you like (must be booked in advance.) We do a cracking full English breakfast at this centre, and lots of other food options are available.
Our Instructors will run through a safety briefing with you in a relaxed and fun manner, and we’ll let you get a feel for the shotguns, clays and cartridges.
Then it’s time to get onto the beautifully presented grounds to rack & load your pump action shotguns. With our advice we’ll get you smashing those flying clays – it’s fast and furious stuff, and it’s going to make for some awesome photos to show your mates.
You’ll automatically get score cards for each person taking part, and we can ramp up the odds by scoring the event as a competition amongst your group if you fancy.
There’s a smashing clubhouse on site which has a bar for after the shotgun experience, and we can also highly recommend the fab country pub at the end of the drive too. Both are great places to relax and have fun chatting about the unique shooting experience you’ve just taken part in.
Early December we undertook a stag do booked through Hard Days Knight (HDK). Greg and the team there made the whole experience as easy and seamless as possible, helping us book amazing accommodation in Belper for 13 people and then finding us fantastic activities to fill the stag. Greg was a pleasure to wok with being friendly and understanding as our plans shifted around a bit and organised a shooting experience and pub tour for the stag both of which went down amazingly. The shooting experience as a fun filled morning of competition and laughs then the pub tour took us to some fantastic pubs, with great choices of beer and food. We'd all be happy to do the tour again and see what other pubs Greg would find for us! Through HDK we had transport to and from the activities sorted and it made the weekend flow so smoothly. I can't thank HDK enough for making it such an easy experience and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to organise a Stag or similar event. Thank you so much :)

First of all would love to say thank you to greg and the team from the start right up to the end they was always helpful and never to busy to help. We booked a stag weekend with them that consisted with a log cabin, quad biking and a zombie experience the whole group had an amazing time so much that we are now looking at doing it yearly (after convincing the wives). So Thank you to HDK for an amazing stag weekend that was planned by yourselves. Ben

I used HDK for my sisters hen do. If you want hassle free please and organisation, use Hard Days Knight was effortless . I just picked where and when and what activities we wanted and it was all organised for us. Very very helpful and accommodating couldn’t do enough, was a pleasure. Answered any questions kept in touch.
