Brewery Tours in Derbyshire & the Peak District.

Like real ales? Bet you do. Most of us have our favourite types of beer. And yes, we love any excuse to have a pint or 3 don’t we.

But ever wondered how it ended up in your glass? Ever pondered over the work that goes into the creation of such fine results? Tell you what – why don’t we show you.

Come along to this beautifully presented micro brewery in Derbyshire, and Steve our head brewer will show you just how this wizardry works. The tour will be a genuinely interesting and informative hour of fun and enlightenment into the art of brewing superb cask ales. And trust us on this, there’s no smell like it!

Steve will take you and your guests through the 5 stages of the craft ale production process –
Stage 1 Brewing water preparation including Burtonisation of water (liquor).
Stage 2 Mixing of liquor with cereal grain in the mash vessel and separation of the strong malt sugar solution from the spent grains.
Stage 3 Boiling of the sugar solution (wort) and addition of hops which impart bitterness and aroma to the final beer.
Stage 4 Transfer of wort to fermentation vessel and addition of yeast.
Stage 5 The fermentation process and conversion of wort to what we know as beer.

This is followed by cask racking i.e. filling of the 4.5 and 9 gallon casks.

The brewery is nestled in the same grounds as a charming country pub, so we can extend your brewery experience with following on to the bar where the full range of the cask beers are on tap, and available in the perfect conditions.

The pub is a real local gem, and serves some of the best food you’ll find in the area. There’s also a pretty outside seating/eating area too, so we could serve you some fantastic food and delicious cask ales right next door to the brewery where they were created.

And of course we can arrange your transport to the brewery and back too if you like, so all your group can enjoy the beers without the need for any designated drivers. This tour also fits like a hand in glove with our legendary mini bus pub tours. We don’t half look after you lot eh!

If you like the look of this little lot our advice is book it quick sharp. The tours are really popular and are limited on availability.
