Before the invention of smokeless cartridges, black powder was the go-to propellant for shotguns. And now, we’re bringing back that classic shooting experience. But don’t worry, you won’t need tweed jackets or deerstalker hats to participate. This is a totally unique activity that will transport you to a bygone era.
Imagine yourself standing on our picturesque estate grounds, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Derbyshire. Feel the weight of a traditional black powder shotgun in your hands as you learn the art of muzzle loading and firing. The air fills with clouds of gun smoke, creating an atmosphere that not only enhances the experience but also makes for incredible photo opportunities.
With 20 shots each, including 15 breech (cartridge) loads and 5 traditional muzzle loads, you’ll have plenty of chances to test your skills. Take aim from four different shooting stands and witness the exhilaration of smashing clays the old-fashioned way. This is clay pigeon shooting at its finest.
For those who crave an extra level of excitement, we have something truly extraordinary. Imagine the thunderous boom of a real, live 1/6th scale cannon from the legendary HMS Victory. Step up to the challenge as each team gets the opportunity to fire the cannon two to three times.
Loaded with grapeshot .577 musket balls (around a dozen per charge), your objective is simple – hit the target closest to the French flagship. Get ready to make history and show off your marksmanship skills.

Visited here last weekend, superb place very spacious, amazing property's on offer lovely views. Activities on offer are vast and there's so much to do we opted for karting and shooting and it didn't disappoint. We spent hours using the full sized pool table and the bedrooms were lovely and clean, if you want an all inclusive weekend away whether it's a stag do or any other gathering then this is ideal and when there's up to 12 people or even less if represents great value for money for what you get, thanks guys. James and the lads.

We went through Greg from HDK to help us organise a stag do for 13 lads in the Peak District. Straight from the off Greg was extremely accommodating and friendly, happy to help with all (a lot) of our questions. Amazing service from Greg at HDK. The snow thwarted our hen do plans at the last minute but Greg very diligently found us an alternative activity for no extra charge.
