An elegant mix of cabins & pods on a private estate in Ashbourne
We have six cabins on our private country estate in Ashbourne for you to stay in and use. There are four accommodation cabins & two BBQ Cabins of Nordic design.
The sleeping cabins have a small covered porch area to leave boots and outdoor clothing and are in the lee of the prevailing wind.
Each sleeping cabin sleeps eight people, and the cabins come in a complete package comprising the two cabins and the BBQ cabin.
Eight bunk bed style beds cover sleeping arrangements, each with its own memory foam mattress, which is very comfortable. Each bed is approximately 1.95m long or 6’ 6”, so plenty of room exists.
Heating is by a thermostatically controlled oil-filled radiator, which makes the heating safe, efficient, and fume-free. Each cabin has a Solar dome to provide natural daylight and lockable double-glazed windows that can provide ventilation as and when required. In addition, each cabin has 5-lever locking for security.
Our BBQ cabin is a 10m diameter purpose-built cabin with a large central BBQ/firepit that vents through the central chimney.
Bench seating with reindeer skins is around the BBQ. As the walls of the cabin lean outwards, you can relax in real comfort while cooking and drinking around the central fire. There is additional storage space under the benches.
The BBQ cabins have several additional features over and above your usual BBQ. They have vertical supports to hold the smoke cowl in place that double up to provide metal arms, a fish/meat turning griddle, a kettle hook, and a pan holder. There are even picnic-style tables that can be detached for putting your plates & drinks holders.
We provide all the BBQ equipment you need, from a bottle opener to BBQ tools. The BBQ works using charcoal briquettes, and we provide these. Strictly no wood may be burnt in the fire pit. Lighting is by LED low-voltage lighting, and this provides relaxing ambient background lighting. The BBQ cabin has a clock, a thermometer, a carbon monoxide alarm, and a fire extinguisher.
The Nordic Cabins & the BBQ Cabin come at a complete package price covering a minimum two-night stay (although we can offer a one-night stay for a supplement in some circumstances). There is a maximum occupancy of 32 people, 8 per cabin and soft pillows and luxury quilts are supplied. These super cabins are available to book at the amazing unit price of £385 each per cabin per night. A two-night stay includes the exclusive use of the BBQ hut when booking at least two cabins.

Early December we undertook a stag do booked through Hard Days Knight (HDK). Greg and the team there made the whole experience as easy and seamless as possible, helping us book amazing accommodation in Belper for 13 people and then finding us fantastic activities to fill the stag. Greg was a pleasure to wok with being friendly and understanding as our plans shifted around a bit and organised a shooting experience and pub tour for the stag both of which went down amazingly. The shooting experience as a fun filled morning of competition and laughs then the pub tour took us to some fantastic pubs, with great choices of beer and food. We'd all be happy to do the tour again and see what other pubs Greg would find for us! Through HDK we had transport to and from the activities sorted and it made the weekend flow so smoothly. I can't thank HDK enough for making it such an easy experience and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to organise a Stag or similar event. Thank you so much :)

First of all would love to say thank you to greg and the team from the start right up to the end they was always helpful and never to busy to help. We booked a stag weekend with them that consisted with a log cabin, quad biking and a zombie experience the whole group had an amazing time so much that we are now looking at doing it yearly (after convincing the wives). So Thank you to HDK for an amazing stag weekend that was planned by yourselves. Ben

I used HDK for my sisters hen do. If you want hassle free please and organisation, use Hard Days Knight was effortless . I just picked where and when and what activities we wanted and it was all organised for us. Very very helpful and accommodating couldn’t do enough, was a pleasure. Answered any questions kept in touch.
