For those wanting to get back to basics, we now offer black powder clay shooting. Before the invention of smokeless cartridges, black powder was used – don’t worry, the tweed jackets and deerstalker hats aren’t essential
This great Derbyshire outdoor activity enables everyone to learn how to load and use the traditional black powder guns, before heading onto the grounds to hit some clays the traditional way while filling the air with clouds of gun smoke (makes great photo opportunities!)
This activity is available at the following activity centres:
All participants get 20 shots each, that’s 15 breech (cartridge) load followed by 5 traditional muzzle load over 4 different shooting stands
And for groups that REALLY like things to go with a bang you can upgrade to also shooting a real live 1/6th scale cannon from the HMS Victory! Each team has 2/3 shots with the cannon using grapeshot.577 musket balls (about a dozen per charge) to see who can get nearest to the French Flagship
Package 1 – (minimum 6 people) – £55 per person – lasts approx 2 hours

Package 2 – (minimum 10 people) – £65 per person – lasts half a day
20 shots per person traditional black powder clay shooting followed by a session of cannon shooting including 2/3 shots per team
